He Sends the Prepared!!!

Hello again everyone!

Hope you all had an amazing week! This week was HISTORIC! It was seriously so crazy. The mission is on fire and the spiritual momentum is just going strong. It's amazing to be apart of.

☆ At the beginning of last week, the mission had 91 people on date. Which is incredible! 91 amazing souls choosing to enter into a covenant with Heavenly Father. But by the end of last night, there were 232 people on date to get baptized! Within 5 days, 141 more people were put on date!! WOAH! People are ready for this gospel!

☆ We had an amazing training on Friday and after that, Sister Hildebrandt and I made a goal to invite someone to be baptized every day. We went into our dinner appointment with the wonderful Burgess family and after, we were sitting in the car listening to a few of our voicemails. We found one that we got a week ago that we were never aware of and it was this guy named Al! He just called to say hi so we gave him a call back and chatted for a bit. Mid conversation, we go, "Al, have you ever been baptized before?" "I have, but it was a long time ago. I think I should be baptized again." What?!?!! After reading Alma 7:15 and talking about the significance of this baptism, we set the date for April 22nd! So now we are helping him prepare for that!

☆ The next day, we had a lesson with this guy named Paul A. He was taught a year ago (by my trainer actually!) so we stopped by to check in on him. He loves having the missionaries over and knows that there is something special about this. We read D&C 20:37 and talked about the qualifications of baptism. He knows baptism is his next step but is just nervous to make the change. We told him, "Paul, we're goals and plans type of girls. We would love to make a goal with you for a day when you can be baptized and then we will meet with you more and help you feel ready and prepared for that day. Will you follow the example of Jesus Christ by being baptized..." He got really nervous and responded with, "But won't I be changing my whole beliefs?" We had AMAZING fellowship there (our girl Heather who got baptized in December) and she testified strongly of her own conversion. It was amazing. He is now on date for April 22 as well!

☆ Then Sunday came around and we invited someone to be baptized but they said no. But that's okay! We still tried and we respect their agency. At least they know our purpose and if they ever want to work towards that, we're always here! :)

☆ We got our transfer news... Sister Hildebrandt will be staying and I will be going to the Foothills YSA!! Sad to leave her and this incredible ward that I love so much but so excited for these next few weeks! It's going to be SO good!

☆ I finished reading through all of the Book of Mormon again yesterday! Can I just tell you, I LOVE the Book of Mormon! Every day as I have feasted upon these words, I can feel the difference in my day. The Book of Mormon is filled with truth and light.

Moroni 10:6 "And whatsoever thing is good is just and true; wherefore, nothing that is good denieth the Christ, but acknowledgeth that he is."

This is PURE goodness! It is true! Let's feast upon these words🤍

Love you! Have a wonderful week!

Kandice and Rose's Baptism

hello everyone!!

I only have time to write about one story this week and it's a long one but such a good one. so, sorry not sorry haha!

☆ KANDICE & ROSE GOT BAPTIZED! WAHOO!! such a happy time!! They are the sweetest people and I just love them so much. On Friday, Kandice finished work and then drove 8 hours to Utah so that they can be baptized with their family on Saturday. They had their baptism and we were able to zoom in- so grateful for the blessing of technology! That next day, they drove back down at 3am so that they could make it to be confirmed in church in our ward. Talk about dedication! It was such a special weekend and they are so excited to be active, lifelong members of the church.

When people get baptized, I love sharing a little summary of their story so here ya go;)

About 2 months ago, Kandice and Rose were back in Utah visiting their "2nd mom", Sherri. 2 hours before they were about to leave for Arizona, Sherri's ministering brother, Brother Condie, shows up at Sherri's house and meets Kandice! After talking with each other for a little bit, Kandice agreed to have Brother Condie refer the missionaries to her. So he got all her information and told her they'd be reaching out soon.

That night, he went online and filled out a online form for us to visit Kandice and Rose. After putting in all the information, he submitted it and it failed! Everything got canceled. So he tried again. And again. And again. All 4 times this missionary request would not submit! Satan really did not want this to happen! But Brother Condie did not give up and tried everyday for that next week. Finally, after 7 days of trying, it was went in and we were able to receive the referral.

That next afternoon, we stopped by Kandice's house and she was outside! We introduced herself and she responded with, "I know who you are! I've been waiting for you to come!" haha! After chatting with her for a second, we knew she was prepared and invited her to pray about a day to be baptized! 2 month later, she entered the waters of baptism and made her first covenant with the Lord.

Talk about an inspiring story. I'm so grateful for Kandice and Rose and their example of faith. It's been an amazing journey to be apart of. And I'm so grateful for Brother Condie and his diligence in doing his calling and dedication to helping others come closer to Christ!!

Last week I found out I only have 100 days left of my mission. Crazy! I don't want this to end! I love putting this tag on everyday and being a representative of Jesus Christ. I love sharing this gospel and bringing others the peace and joy that it has brought me. But good thing it doesn't have to end! This gospel and missionary can be a lifelong thing. and it will for me!

I love you all! I hope you have a wonderful week! Always remember that God loves you and He has the perfect plan!

I Love My Mission!

Hello hello everyone!!

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a wonderful week!

Isn't Heavenly Father just so good? agh I love Him!! I was reading Mormon 4 today and it's all about war and is so sad. But after I finished, I just felt the spirit bring me so much joy. Life is good!! There are so many things to be excited about! Yes, there are a lot of scary things that happen as we get closer to the coming of Christ but there are also SO much good. This gospel is good. The Book of Mormon is good. God is good and He's got everything handled. We need to be rejoicing and sharing! We have the fulness of the gospel. What a blessing.

Anyway, I'm just grateful:)
But, here are a few miracles from the last 2 weeks!

☆ Our friends Kandice and Rose are getting baptized on March 18th!!!! WAHOO!! Thank you for all your prayers! They are so excited and it's been so special to see this gospel bless their lives already.

☆ Do you remember our miracle friend, Paul? He was the last door we knocked on with Sister B the last night of her mission. Well since then, he's come to church every week and now, HE'S GETTING BAPTIZED TOO! When we invited him to be baptized, he responded by saying, "You know what, I was just sitting on my couch and thought, it's about time that I should be baptized again." So Paul will be following the example of Jesus Christ by being baptized on March 18th and we have about 2 weeks to teach 85% of the principles.

☆ We are still trying really hard to get this ward more engaged in the missionary work. SLOWLY but surely, it's happening. If you are home right now and reading this, text your missionaries to see if they need any help this week! YOU have a vital role to play and I know there is going to be someone who Heavenly Father has prepared just for you.

That's all for now! love you all! keep being awesome! and if you can, please pray in specific this week that we will continue to find more people who are ready for the gospel. We need help being led to them! thank you!!

XOXO Sister Coon
